Description of Work
This position must supervise offenders in the manufacturing of bedding materials and the reupholstery of furniture. The employee must ensure completion and accuracy of orders to meet specified shipping deadlines. This includes supervising offenders in the accurate and timely completion of assigned orders. This position requires assisting the Plant Manager in the daily operation of the plant. The employee is responsible for training offenders in the safe and proper operation of all required equipment and manufacturing practices utilized in the production of reupholstered furniture and the manufacturing of bedding material.
The employee must organize and direct work assignments of offenders, set up and operate equipment and processing of raw materials to finished goods.
This is a certified position for which the employee must have completed or must be able to complete Correctional Officer Basic Training (COBT) by the NC Criminal Justice Education and Training Standards Commission within 12 months of hire.

Skills and Abilities
/ Management Preferences are not required. Candidates now meet the minimum qualifications of a position if they meet the minimum education and experience listed on the vacancy announcement.
Applicants who possess the following skills are preferred:
Experience working in a manufacturing and/or production environment.
Background in logistics, supply chain, or project management, ensuring timely ordering, manufacturing, and delivery of products.
Ability to use tools used for measurement and cutting, ensuring quality control within specifications.
Experience teaching and supervising unskilled labor.
Salary Range: $39,244 - $68,679
