Position Overview

Senior Project Manager to drive excellence in the Electrical Service division. Responsible for overall project direction, completion, and financial outcome of assigned construction projects. May also direct and mentor other Project Managers, field leadership of assigned jobsites, and other staff. Reports to the VP of Service Operations.

Responsibilities
  • Mentor and develop Assistant Project Managers and Project Managers
  • Oversee large or complex projects
  • Coordinate and collaborate with executive and operations groups within Amteck to provide input to company processes, procedures, and objectives
  • Provide leadership for multiple aspects of concurrent projects including cost, planning, scheduling, supervision, and personnel management, ensuring all financial targets are met
  • Manage all activities associated with assigned projects, including takeoffs, budgeting, procurement, pull planning, scheduling, and production tracking
  • Manage project‑related correspondence and documents through designated document management systems
  • Act as a liaison with the customer and project staff to identify and process scope changes, address issues, and communicate regarding project milestones
  • Grow and maintain customer relationships into partnerships to ensure customer satisfaction and quality of service
  • Delegate tasks as needed and ensure project leadership appropriately delegates assignments with clear and consistent instructions to team members
  • Create, update, and implement the project schedule through scheduling programs to maintain control of assigned projects; establish and maintain pull‑planning scheduling sessions and incorporate planning into the project schedule
  • Coordinate closely and establish expectations with Superintendents, Foreman, and other disciplines regarding planning, scheduling, and related tasks
  • Communicate consistently with project clients to manage constraints and provide progress updates professionally
  • Establish a method of identifying and tracking work completion consistently throughout the project lifecycle
  • Act as liaison to the Executive Vice President and Vice President of Service Operations in leading and supervising the lead Superintendent of assigned job sites, and report progress
  • Provide problem solving and decision‑making skills to project teams
  • Participate in all applicable meetings (kick‑off, alignment, turnover, status, and close‑out)
  • Complete PM Summary thoroughly and accurately prior to project review meetings and discuss the summary
  • Review and analyze bid documents for assigned projects and offer feedback to estimating and engineering as needed
  • Identify and design prefabrication solutions; work with project team and Prefab team to implement strategy and analyze costs
  • Establish contract budgets when a project is assigned and takeoff is finalized; create change order budgets when needed
  • Complete risk analysis of assigned contracts, review and negotiate contracts with the customer, and forward contracts to the President and President of Construction for final review
  • Ensure permits and business licensing are in place
  • Work with project team and HR/Workforce department to ensure project compliance with state, local, licensing, and all applicable employment laws
  • Coordinate with Human Resources and field supervision at project start to implement manpower strategy, ensure supervisors understand responsibilities, and assist with interviews, hiring decisions, and other HR functions
  • Negotiate, review and approve subcontracts and major material purchases
  • Provide financial projections, work completion, and progress reports internally and externally
  • Create project documents in Coins (RFIs, PCOs, RFPs, Submittals, Issues, Risks and Opportunities, Meeting Minutes, etc.)
  • Review and audit field documents (Daily Reports, Safety, Inspection, Test Reports, etc.)
