We are seeking an EMC Team Lead to lead and develop our EMC testing team in Lexington, KY. This is a people-first leadership role, ideal for someone who enjoys developing teams, driving cultural change and improving operational performance.
The successful candidate will initially lead a team of three engineers, with plans to grow the team to five or six. EMC experience is advantageous but not essential. We are open to candidates from broader engineering, manufacturing or TIC backgrounds who demonstrate strong leadership potential and a continuous improvement mindset.
The role will focus on creating a high-performing team environment, challenging the mindset of "this is how we've always done it" and implementing more effective ways of working.
Key Responsibilities- Lead, coach and develop the EMC engineering team
- Build a positive culture focused on accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement
- Manage scheduling and resource planning to ensure effective utilisation of the engineering team
- Support career development, performance management and mentoring
- Lead recruitment activities, including interviewing and onboarding new employees
- Act as a key point of contact for customers and support customer relationship management
- Identify and implement process improvements across the department
- Support the planned growth of the team from three to five or six employees
- Drive operational improvements and challenge existing ways of working
- 3–5 years’ professional experience within engineering, manufacturing, testing or a related technical environment
- Strong leadership qualities and a genuine desire to manage and develop people
- Previous formal leadership experience is not essential; candidates looking to step into their first leadership role are encouraged to apply
- EMC testing experience is preferred but not required
- Experience with in the TIC industry is advantageous but not essential
- Engineering or manufacturing experience is highly desirable
- Experience with Lean Six Sigma (LSS), Continuous Improvement (CI) or operational excellence methodologies is beneficial
- Strong organisational, communication and customer-facing skills
- A proactive approach to challenging established ways of working
- The ability to successfully lead cultural change and build a high-performing team
