Plant Superintendent (Manufacturing Experience, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing) – Winchester, KY

Location:

Winchester, KY (Onsite). Job Function:
Plant Superintendent. Date of Job Posting: 10-09-2025.

Responsibilities
  • Accountable for safety, quality, on-time delivery, productivity, cost performance, employee training and relations in a 24/7 plastics manufacturing facility.
  • Monitor production performance and implement processes, procedures, and methods to improve results in all key functional areas.
  • Implement and maintain best manufacturing practices and regulatory compliance for all production activities.
  • Lead plant in continuous improvement initiatives (5S, safety, Six Sigma, Kaizen events, Lean manufacturing).
  • Coordinate production scheduling to meet customer demands, manage overtime, minimize inventory, and reduce costs.
  • Assist in preparation of the annual plant operating budget and strive to meet or exceed plant productivity and cost targets.
  • Hire, train, direct, and mentor staff; manage employee relations and development across a diverse workforce.
  • Develop subordinates through education, training, and teamwork; communicate problems and obstacles to the plant manager and leadership team.
  • Ensure safety programs are followed and environmental and safety regulations (EPA, OSHA, etc.) are complied with.
  • Support quality initiatives to ensure products meet or exceed customer expectations and ensure quality checks and audits are completed.
  • Build and maintain productive employee relationships, provide coaching, and work with HR on employee concerns and disciplinary actions as needed.
  • Identify, propose, and implement capital projects to improve operational performance.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering (preferred: plastics major) with manufacturing experience.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of manufacturing experience or equivalent.
  • Proven leadership track record and strong work ethic.
  • Public speaking and ability to train large groups of coworkers.
  • Above-average written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, including creating charts, graphs, SOPs, One Point Lessons, and presentations.
  • High integrity and ethical standards.
  • Willingness to work overtime and flexible schedule to support all shifts.
