The Production manager is responsible for supervising and assigning repair work to technicians, ensuring completion and quality of the repair work, monitoring work quality, identifying and addressing issues. This position also supervises the workflow to complete vehicle repairs within specific target dates.
Essential Functions And Responsibilities- Provide daily supervision and direction to all production staff members
- Ensure that all repairs are completed correctly/accurately the first time, on time in adherence with industry quality standards
- Dispatch all work assignments to production personnel according to ability (low-skilled/high-skilled)
- Ensure every teammate has a production forecast list for efficiency
- Schedule all sublet work in a timely manner
- Meet with each technician daily to discuss work assignments and schedules, creating a plan of accountability and time-driven completions for each stage of production.
- Maintain information within CCC1 to reflect vehicle status. Ensure information is always current & accurate.
- Monitor work quality and provide day-to-day feedback and coaching to technician staff, creating a team environment for both body & paint.
- Train, counsel, motivate and monitor performance of Production Coordinator(s), as necessary
- Plan daily collision repair production schedule to maximize efficiency and maintain cycle time goals
- Run production meeting to communicate priorities to staff
- Immediately identify and address any quality issues or production delays
- Perform final quality inspection prior to delivery of the vehicle to customer
- 5 years of prior auto body collision repair experience.
- I-CAR certification, ASE training preferred.
- Advanced understanding and knowledge of operations, and repair process/procedures.
- Proven experience managing employees in a high performing collision repair facility preferred.
- Ability to be analytical, multi-task and problem solve.
- Highly organized, able to handle multiple concurrent assignments.
- Proficient computer skills and prior estimating software experience required.
- Valid driver’s license and insurable driving record.
