Job Description Production Supervisor (2nd Shift) Monday-Friday 1pm-9:30pm Position SummaryTo ensure the highest quality products are produced in a safe, accurate manner by training, developing and managing our employees according to established company standards, in order to maximize production efficiencies.
Essential Functions- Manages trains and develops employees to ensure that they are performing job duties in accordance with established standards.
- Ensures that company policies, standards and procedures are met, followed and maintained in accordance with established company policy (e.g. OSHA and safety compliance, Federal/State/Local Laws).
- Oversees daily operation of production lines; reviews all departmental activity daily to prioritize tasks for work group, troubleshoots problems that could result in downtime on the lines.
- Communicates with co-workers and other employees verbally and in writing regarding the status of production, departmental activities, operational feedback and other information.
- Completes, reviews and maintains daily production reports, quality check sheets, work orders, MSDS sheets, safety records and other paperwork according to established company policy; reviews and approves time‑off requests and time cards.
- Maintains confidentiality of financial information (e.g. department budget information, capital expenses), employee information (e.g. discipline and wage information) and other sensitive and confidential information.
- Works assigned schedule, exhibits regular and predictable attendance and works outside of normal schedule as required to meet workload demands. Performs other related duties as required.
- Contacts and communicates with suppliers regarding problems and issues with raw materials.
- Operates production equipment (e.g. depalletizer, filler, packaging equipment) to ensure production line continues to operate during employees’ breaks.
2 Year / Associate Degree in operations management, business management or related field or equivalent work experience.
Preferred Requirements4 Year / Bachelors Degree in operations management, business management or related field.
Experience1-3 years of food production experience. 1-3 years of previous supervisory experience.
Computer SkillsProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Additional RequirementsKnowledge of beverage industry; high speed packaging machines and production equipment; general management principles;
Microsoft Office Suite. Skill in: internal customer service; training and coaching;
Ability to: train, develop, lead and manage a team; work quickly, efficiently and independently; multi-task; communicate effectively with other employees and develop good working relationships; adapt to change; operate a computer, copier, two way radio; be trained on operating all production line equipment (e.g. filler, depalletizer, forklift); delegate; problem solve; troubleshoot problems with production equipment; make suggestions to improve processes;
resolve conflict. Other functions, skills and abilities may also apply.
