Assembler

Fabricates, assembles, installs sub-assemblies and rework products by performing the following duties.

Reads and interprets drawings, or cut sheets to determine sequence and methods of fabricating and assembling products.

Sets up and operates various powered and non-powered hand tools including but not limited to wrenches, sockets, screw guns, pop-riveters, routers, jig-saws, reciprocating saw, nail guns and staple guns.

Bolts, rivets, screws, clips, caulks, or bonds component parts to assemble products.

Installs sub-assemblies in supportive framework according to drawings.

Inspects sub-assemblies and finished product for conformance to specifications.

Rework sub-assemblies and finished product as necessary.

Forward finished assembly or product to the next work area. Other duties may be assigned.

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

High school education preferred and/or previous factory experience preferred.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in standard units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 200 pounds with the assistance of other employees.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
