Sponsorship Intern

SUMMARY

The Corporate Sponsorship intern will assist sponsors and vendors, as well as planning and implementing sponsorship programs. Students will have the opportunity to interact with multiple departments including marketing, sales and racing teams, and gain a greater understanding of Keeneland and the Thoroughbred industry.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Assist in implementation of Keeneland's live race meet sponsor ships.
• Compile and deliver/mail ticket packages to sponsors.
• Support the Best Turned Out program through advance planning and implementation on designated sponsor days.
• Assist with organizing digital photo files.
• Produce signage diagrams and coordinate signs for installation.
• Gather partner recap information and initiate report production.
• Coordinate Gift Shop requests in advance of each race meet and delivery of items.
• Implement sponsor promotions as assigned (sweepstakes and/or on-site activations).
• Assist with the idea creation and execution of sponsor gifting.
• Escort partner contacts and/or provide paddock tours as needed.
• Assist in organizing partner apparel and timely delivery or distribution.
• Other duties and assignments as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Currently enrolled as a junior, senior or graduate student in Marketing, Communications, Integrated Strategic Communications or a related field.
• Exceptional writing and communications skills; ability to work with diverse clients.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Proficient in Canva or similar applications
• Organized with the ability to prioritize time-sensitive assignments.
• Creative and flexible, a proven self-starter.
• Basic understanding of camera operation and cinematography principles.
• Ability to lift, push, pull or carry up to 50 lbs.
• Willingness to follow Keeneland's policies and procedures.
• Knowledge/experience in Thoroughbred industry, or at Keeneland, preferred.
• Be able to work Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays during the race meets in April and October.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

A Kentucky Horse Racing Authority License is required for all track workers. (Supplied through Keeneland upon hire)
