No experience required. - Required License/Registration/Certification:
Active Kentucky Registered Nurse (RN) license, temporary work permit (TWP), provisional license or active compact state RN license in good standing, and American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support certification valid for at least 6 months after employment date. - Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull 50-100 pounds daily and 25-50 pounds frequently; stand, walk, and sit for long periods; exposure to communicable diseases, radiation hazards, and injury from patients or sharp instruments. - Shift: Must work two 12‑hour night shifts (7 PM–7:30 AM), every Friday & Saturday or Saturday & Sunday, 24 hrs/week. Weekend Premium Position (WEPP).

- Assess, document, plan, implement, teach, develop, and evaluate a comprehensive nursing plan of care.
- Deliver direct patient care to adult trauma and acute surgical patients.
- Ensure patient satisfaction and maintain high quality standards.
- Train and delegate duties to Nursing Care Technicians (Nursing Assistants).
- Adhere to University policies, procedures, and federal, state, and local regulations.
- Collaborate with nursing staff and physicians to enhance communication and patient outcomes.
- Utilize the nursing process and a patient‑centered plan of care.
- Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid Kentucky license or equivalent compact state license.
- AHA Basic Life Support certification valid for at least 6 months.
- Knowledge of Maslow’s Basic Human Needs and Gordon’s Functional Health Patterns framework.
- Strong direct patient care, critical thinking, computer navigation, and communication skills.
- Organizational, prioritization, and delegation abilities.
- Motivated, proactive, confident advocate for patients and families.
- BSN degree.
- Minimum one year of RN experience.
