Isaiah House is looking for a dedicated and driven person to take on the role of Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at our centers across Kentucky. This position will be part time working one weekend a month. There are no set weekend hours; however, the work must be completed regardless of the time it takes.

A Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is responsible for providing a basic medical intake for clients at Isaiah House and assessing their well-being as part of a larger medical team.

Job duties:

  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with company, state, federal and HIPAA rules and regulations
  • Knowledge of addictions and mental health complications.
  • Knowledge and competency in problem solving, stress management, ethics and team building.
  • Knowledge of alcohol and other drugs that includes:
    Alcohol and addictive drugs and their physical, emotional, intellectual and spiritual impact on the individual and their family.
  • Ability to determine if a medical emergency exists and to take appropriate action, when necessary.
  • Knowledge of emergency procedures used in case of alcohol and/or drug overdose.
  • Knowledge of the stages of alcohol and other drug withdrawals and ability to take appropriate action at each stage.
  • Take vitals.
  • Administer medication to clients as directed.
  • Charting for insurance purposes.
  • Maintain a positive, professional attitude toward residents, staff, and volunteers.
  • Handle crisis situations in a calm, supportive manner.
  • Create a safe and healthy environment for clients.
Requirements
  • Valid LPN license.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and stay on schedule.
  • Ability to enforce program requirements.
  • Problem solving abilities.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to complete and submit reports
  • Adheres to Isaiah House policies and procedures.
  • Attends mandatory in-services and other training/educational programs as required.
