Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PCU (Progressive Care Unit) position requiring Level 1-2 trauma experience, telemetry proficiency, and a valid KY or compact RN license.
Responsibilities- Progressive Care Unit (PCU) at an acute care hospital setting
- Heavy trauma and GI post-op patient population
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30
- 14-week contract
- First-time travelers with Level 1 trauma experience will be considered
- Candidates whose permanent residence is within 100 miles of the facility are not eligible for this position
- Former permanent staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 6 months before returning as a traveler
- All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed at the time of submission — no RTO will be approved after submission
- Active KY or compact RN license required, with no licensure hits
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Telemetry experience required
- Level 1 or Level 2 trauma experience required
- Experience with trauma and general surgery post-op patients, including abdominal surgeries
- Proficiency with trachs and flaps required
- Strong skills with Foley catheters, surgical drains, wound vacs, ostomies, ports, and PICCs required
- Experience with TPN and lipid administration required
- Surgical oncology experience required
- Two supervisory references from within the last 3 years required for consideration
