Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position requiring at least 2 years of recent ICU experience and Level 1 trauma background, with night shift availability.
Responsibilities- Progressive Care Unit (PCU) in a hospital setting
- High-acuity patient population, including patients who may require rapid response intervention
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
- 36- or 48-hour per week contract options available
- Floating required to ICU and other PCU/transitional units
- Orientation provided to other transitional units
- Candidates whose permanent residence is within 100 miles of the facility are not eligible for this position
- Former permanent staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 6 months before being eligible to return as a traveler
- All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed upfront — RTO requests made after submission will not be approved
- Active KY or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration — no licensure hits accepted
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
- Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience required
- Minimum 1 year of Level 1 trauma experience in a high-acuity PCU required
- PCU, Med/Surg, and Telemetry nursing experience required
- Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to manage rapidly deteriorating patients
- 2 supervisory references from within the last 3 years of employment required for consideration
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
