Required ExperienceNo experience required.
Required Licensure & Certifications- Active Kentucky Registered Nurse (RN) license, Temporary Work Permit (TWP), Provisional License or active compact state RN license in good standing.
- AHA Basic Life Support certification valid for at least six months after the employment date.
The essential functions include the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull 50–100 pounds daily and 25–50 pounds frequently; stand, walk, and sit for prolonged periods. The work environment may involve exposure to communicable diseases, radiation hazards, and injury from intractable patients or sharp instruments.
Shift & AvailabilityMust work two 12‑hour night shifts (7 PM–7:30 AM) every Friday & Saturday or Saturday & Sunday, 24 hours per week. This is a weekend premium position (WEPP).
Job SummaryProvide total, comprehensive, continuous, and patient‑centered care, including assessment, documentation, planning, implementation, teaching, development, and evaluation of nursing plans. Deliver direct patient care; ensure patient satisfaction; train and delegate duties to nursing care technicians. Adhere to university, regulations, and standards of care to enhance communication and patient outcomes.
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities- Knowledge of Maslow’s eight Basic Human Needs, Gordon's Functional Health Patterns, and Swanson’s Caring model.
- Strong direct patient care, critical thinking, and computer navigation skills.
- Professional communication with patients, families, coworkers, and physicians.
- Excellent organizational, prioritization, and delegation skills.
- Motivated, proactive, and confident in patient advocacy and teamwork.
No supervisory duties.
Preferred Education & ExperienceBSN and at least one year of RN experience preferred.
