Physical RequirementsRequires handling of average weights or objects up to 25 pounds with some sitting, standing, or walking.
ShiftMust be able to work three, 12-hour DAY shifts from 7AM until 7:30PM; will also be required to work some weekend and holidays.
Job SummaryLicensed Practical Nurses (LPN) in the 3 Medicine Acute care area at UK Chandler Hospital provide care to adult patients with a wide range of medical / surgical conditions. The 3 Medicine Acute care area provides acute, comprehensive inpatient care for patients suffering from a variety of medical diseases and surgical complications. Patient conditions include diabetes, endocrine disorders, gastrointestinal disorders, wound care, and surgical cases (both pre and post operation).
This team is responsible for the diagnosis and treatment of multiple medical and surgical disease complications. The LPN is a member of the multidisciplinary ambulatory team who is responsible for patient care, patient satisfaction, and clinical outcomes. The LPN performs the duties for which they are trained such as starting IVs, simple wound dressings, and notifying the RN or LIP with any changes or abnormalities in the patients condition.
