Travel RN - Med​/Surg Tele

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position specializing in post-op cardiac surgery and complex cardiac patients, requiring active KY or compact RN licensure and ACLS certification.

Job Details

• Work in a 20-bed telemetry unit within a hospital setting,

• Patient population includes post-op CABG, post-op cardiac surgery, CHF, and moderate-risk chest pain patients with multiple co-morbidities and complex care needs,

• Patients are transferred from the ICU, ED, and PACU,

• Night shift: 7p-7a, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hrs/week),

• Some holidays and weekends required,

Job Requirements

• Active, unrestricted RN license in Kentucky or a compact state currently in hand,

• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS), and Annual Dysrhythmia Competency Validation,

• ADN or ASN required; BSN preferred,

• Ability to assess age-specific patient safety needs and implement appropriate safety measures,

• MM/DD of date of birth and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration,

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive, evidence-based nursing care centered on the patient as a whole person, incorporating all four phases of the nursing process,

• Responsibilities include patient assessments, care coordination, patient and family education, and facilitating admissions, transfers, and discharges,

• Delegates tasks to and monitors performance of other team members in accordance with plan of care,

• Participates in unit-based quality improvement activities including patient satisfaction, fall prevention, pressure ulcer prevention, and CAUTI reduction,
