Travel RN - Med​/Surg Tele

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position specializing in post-op cardiac and vascular surgery patients, requiring BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications on a night shift schedule.

Job Details

• Hospital-based telemetry unit with 20 beds, including 3 progressive care (PCU) beds,

• Specializes in post-op CABG, post-op cardiac surgery, valve replacement/repair, vascular surgeries, CHF, and moderate-risk chest pain patients,

• Patient population is frequently transferred from the ICU, ED, and PACU and presents with multiple comorbidities and complex care needs,

• Night shift: 7p-7a, 3x12-hour shifts per week (36 hrs/week),

• Weekend and holiday coverage required,

• 13-week contract,

Job Requirements

• Active, unrestricted RN license in Kentucky or a compact state,

• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and Annual Dysrhythmia Competency Validation,

• ADN or ASN required; BSN preferred,

• Previous nursing experience preferred but not required,

• DOB (MM/DD) and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration,

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include comprehensive patient assessments, care planning, patient and family education, and facilitating admission, transfer, and discharge activities,

• Collaborates with an inter-professional team including Case Management to coordinate individualized patient care,

• Participates in unit-based quality improvement initiatives such as patient satisfaction, fall prevention, pressure ulcer prevention, and CAUTI monitoring,

• Nursing practice is evidence-based and aligned with hospital policies, regulatory standards, and professional guidelines,
