  • Required License: Active Kentucky RN license, Temporary Work Permit (TWP), Provisional License or active compact state RN license in good standing, and American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification for Healthcare Provider valid for at least 6 months after employment date.
Shift Requirements

Shift start times: 7 a.m., 11 a.m., 3 p.m., 7 p.m. Must work three 12‑hour shifts per week, including weekends and holidays. No swing shifts or set schedules.

Job Summary

The Chandler Emergency Department consists of five areas: triage, chair‑centric and express care, acute care (16 beds), critical care (8 beds), and a Level I Trauma Center (8 beds). The primary responsibilities include providing total, comprehensive, continuous and patient‑centered care: assessing, documenting, planning, implementing, teaching, developing, and evaluating a comprehensive nursing plan of care; delivering direct patient care; ensuring patient satisfaction; training and delegating duties to Nursing Care Technicians;

and adhering to University policies, procedures and regulations. The role supports collaborative efforts among nursing staff and physicians to enhance patient outcomes.

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull 50‑100 pounds daily; 25‑50 pounds frequently; stand, walk, and sit for long periods. Work may involve exposure to communicable diseases, radiation hazards, and injury from patients or sharp instruments.

Qualifications

No experience required. Nurse licensing and AHA BSU certification required as above.
