Job SummaryThe University of Kentucky Healthcare (UKHC) Enterprise is seeking a Behavioral Health Specialist who will support the care of patients with psychiatric, behavioral, and/or substance use issues. The specialist will act as an expert resource, collaborating with the psychiatric and addiction consult services. The role supports patient care through direct nursing consultation, coaching/mentoring, learning needs assessment, formal and informal education, and guidance to nurses and multidisciplinary teams.
Shift7:00 p.m. shift.
Physical RequirementsOccasional lifting, pushing or pulling of objects up to 10 lbs; occasional standing or walking with objects up to 15 lbs; regular sitting at a computer workstation for extended periods while performing repetitive motions such as typing; standing for extended periods; interaction with staff, faculty, students, patients, and the public.
Qualifications- BSN required.
- 3 years of full-time paid experience in a behavioral health role.
- Registered Nurse (RN) license in Kentucky.
- Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing Certification (RN-BC) within six months of hire.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Experience in behavioral health or psychiatric nursing, preferably in an inpatient setting.
