The LPN is a member of the multidisciplinary ambulatory team responsible for patient care, patient satisfaction, and clinical outcomes. Duties include starting IVs, simple wound dressings, and notifying the RN or LIP of any changes or abnormalities in the patient's condition.
Responsibilities- Perform direct patient care duties trained for as a LPN.
- Document patient assessments and changes in condition accurately.
- Collaborate with RNs, LIPs, physicians, and other team members to ensure quality care.
- Advocate for patients and families and maintain open, honest communication.
The essential functions include the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull 50‑100 pounds daily and 25‑50 pounds frequently; stand, walk, and sit for long periods. Conditions may involve exposure to communicable diseases, hazards of radiation, and injury from intractable patients or sharp instruments.
ShiftMust be able to work two, 12‑hour NIGHT shifts, 7PM‑7:30AM, every Friday/Saturday or Saturday/Sunday – 24 hours per week. This is a weekend premium position.
Skills / Knowledge / AbilitiesMust have superb direct patient care and critical thinking skills; basic computer navigation skills and working knowledge of the internet; ability to communicate professionally and respectfully with patients, families, co‑workers, and physicians; strong organizational, prioritization, and delegation skills. The candidate will be highly motivated, pro‑active, confident in advocating for patients and their families, and enjoy working in a strong team environment, providing open, honest communication with staff and physicians.
