Required License/Registration/Certification

Active Kentucky RN license, Temporary Work Permit, Provisional License, or active compact state RN license in good standing, and AHA Basic Life Support certification valid for at least 6 months after employment.

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull 50–100 pounds daily and 25–50 pounds frequently; stand, walk, and sit for long periods; possible exposure to communicable diseases, radiation hazards, and injury from patients or sharp instruments.

Job Summary

The primary responsibilities include providing total, comprehensive, continuous, patient‑centered care. This involves assessing, documenting, planning, implementing, teaching, developing, and evaluating nursing plans of care; delivering direct patient care; ensuring patient satisfaction; training and delegating duties for Nursing Care Technicians; and adhering to university policies and relevant regulations. The role supports collaborative efforts among nursing staff and physicians to improve communication and patient outcomes.

  • Superb direct patient care and critical thinking skills.

  • Strong organizational, prioritization, and delegation skills.
  • Motivated, proactive, confident in patient advocacy; enjoys team collaboration and open communication.
  • Exceptional technical skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.

BSN and at least 1 year of RN experience preferred.
