Requirements
  • Education:

    ADN required; BSN + at least 1 year RN experience preferred.
  • License/Registration/Certification:
    Active Kentucky RN license, temporary work permit, provisional license, or compact state RN license; AHA Basic Life Support certification valid for at least 6 months after employment.
  • Experience:

    No experience required (BSN and RN experience preferred).
  • Physical Requirements:

    Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull 50‑100 pounds daily, 25‑50 pounds frequently; stand, walk, sit for long periods; exposure to communicable diseases, radiation hazards, and injury from sharp instruments.
  • Shift: 3, 12‑hour day shifts (7 AM‑7:30 PM), 36 hours per week; occasional weekend and holidays.
Job Summary

The primary responsibilities include providing total, continuous, patient‑centered nursing care. Duties encompass assessment, documentation, planning, implementing, teaching, developing, and evaluating a comprehensive nursing plan of care; delivering direct patient care; ensuring patient satisfaction; training and delegating duties for nursing care technicians; and adhering to university policies and regulations. The role supports collaborative efforts among staff and physicians to enhance communication and patient outcomes.
