Grade Level & SalaryGrade 10, $28.00‑39.10 per hour
Type & HoursStaff position, Full‑Time, 12‑hour DAY shifts (7:00 AM‑7:30 PM), 36 hours per week. Requires occasional weekend and holiday work.
Required Education & ExperienceADN required. No prior experience required. Preferred: BSN plus at least 1 year RN experience.
Required Licenses & CertificationsActive Kentucky Registered Nurse (RN) license (or equivalent compact state license) in good standing and an American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support certification valid for at least 6 months after employment date.
Physical RequirementsLifting, carrying, pushing, pulling 50‑100 lb daily; 25‑50 lb frequently. Must stand, walk, and sit for long periods. May encounter communicable diseases, radiation, and sharp instruments.
Job SummaryProvide total, comprehensive, continuous, patient‑centered care: assess, document, plan, implement, teach, develop, and evaluate nursing care plans; deliver direct patient care; ensure patient satisfaction; train and delegate duties for Nursing Assistants; adhere to University policies, procedures, and federal, state, local regulations; collaborate with nursing staff and physicians to enhance communication and patient outcomes.
Skills, Knowledge & AbilitiesKnowledge of Maslow’s eight Basic Human Needs, Gordon’s Functional Health Patterns Framework, and Swanson’s Caring model. Strong direct patient care and critical thinking skills. Basic computer navigation and internet use. Professional, respectful communication with patients, families, coworkers, and physicians.
