Compensation

Salary Range: $28.00-$39.10 per hour

Schedule

3 shifts per week, 12-hour day (7 a.m.

- 7 p.m.). Weekend and holiday shifts required.

Qualifications
  • Required

    Education:

    Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Preferred Education:

    Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) + at least 1 year RN experience
  • Licensure and Certification:
    • Active Kentucky RN license (or equivalent compact state RN license, provisional license, or TWP)
    • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA BLS) certification, valid for at least 6 months after employment date
  • No prior nursing experience required; no supervisory responsibilities.
  • Physical:
    • Ability to lift, carry, push or pull 50-100 lb daily and 25-50 lb frequently.
    • Stand, walk, sit for prolonged periods.
    • Potential exposure to communicable diseases, radiation hazards, and injuries from patients or sharp instruments.
Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive, continuous, patient-centered care, which includes:

  • Assessing, documenting, planning, implementing, teaching, developing, and evaluating a nursing plan of care.
  • Delivering direct patient care and ensuring patient satisfaction.
  • Training and delegating duties for Nursing Care Technicians (Nursing Assistants).
  • Adhering to university policies, federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Collaborating with nursing staff and physicians to improve communication and patient outcomes through the nursing process.

  • Knowledge of Maslow’s Basic Human Needs, Gordon’s Functional Health Patterns & Swanson’s Caring model.
  • Excellent direct patient care and critical-thinking abilities.
  • Basic computer and internet navigation skills.
  • Professional, respectful communication with patients, families, co-workers, and physicians.
  • Strong organization, prioritization, and delegation skills.
  • Pro‑active, confident advocacy for patients and families.
  • Team-oriented with open, honest communication; also capable of independent work.
