Experience:
No experience required. - Required License/Registration/Certification: Active Kentucky Registered Nurse (RN) license, Temporary Work Permit (TWP), Provisional License or active compact state Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing and AHA Basic Life Support certification valid for at least 6 months after employment date.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull 50-100 pounds daily and 25-50 pounds frequently; stand, walk, sit for long periods; exposure to communicable diseases, radiation, injurious patients or sharp instruments.
- Shift: Three 12-hour shifts 7P – 730AM, 36 hrs per week; weekend and holiday shifts as needed.
- Supervisory Responsibilities: No.
Registered Nurses in Tower 100 ICU of the Trauma Acute Care Surgical Service Center at UK Chandler Hospital provide care for adult patients with trauma or acute surgical conditions. Responsibilities include assessing, documenting, planning, implementing, teaching, developing, and evaluating comprehensive nursing care plans; delivering direct patient care; ensuring patient satisfaction; training and delegating duties for Nursing Care Technicians; and adhering to University policies, state and federal regulations.
The role supports collaboration among the nursing staff and physicians to enhance patient outcomes through the nursing process.
