Job SummaryLicensed Practical Nurses (LPN) in the 3 Medicine Acute care area at UK Chandler Hospital provide care to adult patients with a wide range of medical and surgical conditions. The area delivers acute, comprehensive inpatient care for conditions such as diabetes, endocrine disorders, gastrointestinal disorders, wound care, and surgical cases (both pre‑ and post‑operation). This team is responsible for diagnosing and treating multiple medical and surgical disease complications.
The LPN is a member of the multidisciplinary ambulatory team who is responsible for patient care, patient satisfaction, and clinical outcomes. The LPN performs duties for which they are trained such as starting IVs, simple wound dressings, and notifying the RN or LIP with any changes or abnormalities in the patient’s condition.
This environment supports collaborative efforts among nursing staff and physicians to increase communication and enhance expected patient outcomes.
