Position: LPN/Hospital/UKHC / CHANDLER 5 MAIN ACUTE  7P WEPP / 7P WEPP

Job Summary

The LPN is a member of the multidisciplinary ambulatory team who is responsible for patient care, patient satisfaction, and clinical outcomes. The LPN performs the duties for which they are trained such as starting IVs, simple wound dressings, and notifying the RN or LIP with any changes or abnormalities in the patient’s condition.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care, including starting IVs and simple wound dressings.
  • Notify the RN or LIP of any changes or abnormalities in patient condition.
  • Communicate professionally and respectfully with patients, families, co‑workers and physicians.
  • Maintain patient satisfaction and support clinical outcomes.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Kentucky Licensure.
  • No supervisory responsibilities.
  • Strong direct patient care and critical thinking skills.
  • Basic computer navigation skills; working knowledge of the internet.
  • Strong organizational, prioritization, and delegation skills.
  • Motivated, proactive, confident, and able to advocate for patients and families.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.

Shift &

Physical Requirements
  • Must work two 12‑hour night shifts (7 PM‑7:30 AM) every Friday/Saturday or Saturday/Sunday, totaling 24 hours per week.
  • Weekend premium position.
  • Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull 50‑100 pounds daily, and 25‑50 pounds frequently; stand, walk and sit for long periods.
  • Exposure to communicable diseases, radiation hazards, and injury from patients or sharp instruments.
