Job Summary
Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) in the 3 Medicine Acute care area at UK Chandler Hospital provide care to adult patients with a wide range of medical / surgical conditions. The 3 Medicine Acute care area provides acute, comprehensive inpatient care for patients suffering from a variety of medical diseases and surgical complications. Patient conditions include diabetes, endocrine disorders, gastrointestinal disorders, wound care, and surgical cases (both pre and post operation).
This team is responsible for the diagnosis and treatment of multiple medical and surgical disease complications.
The LPN is a member of the multidisciplinary ambulatory team who is responsible for patient care, patient satisfaction, and clinical outcomes. The LPN performs the duties for which they are trained such as starting IVs, simple wound dressings, and notifying the RN or LIP with any changes or abnormalities in the patients condition.
ResponsibilitiesProvide acute, comprehensive inpatient care for adult patients with medical and surgical conditions.
Perform duties such as starting IVs, simple wound dressings, and notifying RN or LIP of any changes in patient condition.
Collaborate with nursing staff, physicians, and interdisciplinary team to enhance patient outcomes and communication.
ShiftThree 12‑hour night shifts from 7:00 PM until 7:30 AM; occasional weekend and holiday work.
Physical RequirementsHandling of average weights or objects up to 25 pounds with some sitting, standing, or walking.
QualificationsLicensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Kentucky Licensure.
Required education: LPN.
Preferred education or experience: LPN with at least one year of experience.
No supervisory responsibilities.
