Active KY Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in good standing:
American Heart Association BLS for the Health Care Provider valid for at least 6 months from hire date.
Physical Requirements
Requires handling of average weights or objects up to 25 pounds with some sitting, standing, or walking.
Shift
Must be able to work three 12-hour DAY shifts from 7AM until 7:30PM; will also be required to work some weekend and holidays.
Job Summary
The Medicine Acute care area provides acute, comprehensive inpatient care for patients suffering from a variety of medical diseases and surgical complications. Patient conditions include diabetes, endocrine disorders, gastrointestinal disorders, wound care, and surgical cases (both pre and post operation). This team is responsible for the diagnosis and treatment of multiple medical and surgical disease complications.
The LPN is a member of the multidisciplinary ambulatory team who is responsible for patient care, patient satisfaction, and clinical outcomes. The LPN performs the duties for which they are trained such as starting IVs, simple wound dressings, and notifying the RN or LIP with any changes or abnormalities in the patient's condition. This environment supports collaborative efforts among the nursing staff and the team of physicians to increase communication and enhance expected patient outcomes.
Preferred Education/Experience
LPN and one year of experience preferred.
