Overview
Job title:
School Nurse RN - Contract Employee 3231 (School Health).
Employment type:
Full-time, 37.5 hours/week for 42 weeks between August 3 and the end of the school year. Pay: $34.58 per hour.
The Lexington-Fayette County Health Department (LFCHD) is an independent public health agency providing a wide range of services to support community health. LFCHD offers public health programs including school health services, nutrition programs, immunizations, and health education. Visit (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). to learn more.
Responsibilities- Provide nursing services in school settings to prevent illness, injury, or disability, promote health, and maintain health of individuals and populations.
- Work independently within the agency following the guidelines in the current Clinical Service Guide (CSG).
- Deliver mandated public health and school health services, including treatment coverage, vision screenings, immunization consultation, medication management, chronic disease training and monitoring, health fairs, and documentation of student visits.
- Perform data entry and maintain accurate records of student visits.
- NURSESH:
Nursing Diploma, Associate Degree in Nursing, Bachelor of Science in Nursing, or Master’s Degree in Nursing.
- Valid Registered Nursing License (RN).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR certification.
- Incident Command System (ICS) at an appropriate level must be obtained within one year of appointment.
