Travel RN - Mother Baby

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Mother Baby unit position in Lexington, KY, requiring an active KY or compact RN license and NRP certification for a 13-week night shift contract.

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted RN license in KY or a compact state currently in hand
• Required certifications: BLS and NRP
• ADN or ASN required; BSN preferred
• Strong medication administration, IV therapy, wound care, and medical equipment skills
• Proficiency in patient assessment, critical thinking, and task prioritization in a fast-paced environment
• Candidate must provide MM/DD of date of birth and last 4 digits of SSN for consideration

Responsibilities

• Work in a 42-bed private room Mother/Baby unit providing postpartum care
• Interdisciplinary team includes specialized nurses, newborn assessment nurses, and lactation consultants
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts per week
• 36 hours per week
• Responsibilities include comprehensive patient assessments, individualized care planning, and facilitating admission, transfer, and discharge processes
• Provides patient and family-centered education, including discharge teaching and coordination with Case Management
• Mentors nursing staff and students, supporting orientation of new team members
• Participates in unit-based quality improvement activities including patient satisfaction, fall prevention, pressure ulcer prevention, and CAUTI monitoring
• Nursing practice is evidence-based and guided by hospital policies, regulatory standards, and professional guidelines
