This is a 23 bed medical surgical unit caring for orthopedic, spine, general surgery and bariatric patients. We do have some overflow from the medicine areas if a bed is available. It’s a very busy fast paced unit and usually receives 10-20 post-ops/day. This unit includes cardiac and O2 monitoring capability. Nursing requirements; both medical and surgical skillset and BLS. ACLS not required.

EKG exam required to pass during onboarding. Float to other units in skillset. Local travelers within 100 miles are not accepted at this facility.

2 years of experience required. Will allow the consideration of first time travelers ONLY IF they have several years of experience caring for post-op surgical patients (especially Orthopedics and Gastrointestinal surgeries). High turnover rate- must be comfortable with multiple admissions and discharges per shift. Compliance requirements: BLS, EKG onboarding exam, Med/Surg Tele competency exam, Med/Surg Tele skills, Math exam, Med/Pharmacology exam, CORE exams- NO NIHSS. Special Equipment:

Modules are billable, average 6.5 hours and not included in NBO hours. Modules are completed during orientation and annually, and vary by specialty.
