The RN demonstrates leadership in maintaining the effectiveness of the clinical environment and ensuring compliance with established standards of care.

As a licensed professional, the RN is accountable for independent clinical judgment and actions. In addition to core competencies, the RN possesses proficiency in caring for patients with end-stage renal disease (ESRD), acute kidney injury (AKI), and late-stage chronic kidney disease (CKD). As a primary nurse for ESRD patients, the RN plays a key role in care coordination, acting as a resource and advocate to help patients navigate complex healthcare systems.

The RN monitors and trends patient outcomes, reports needs to the interdisciplinary team, and works collaboratively to resolve patient care challenges using a team-based approach.
