FT Hourly 30 to 40 hrs LC East, Lexington, KY, US
SUMMARY:
The Cardiology RN provides expert professional nursing care to patients of the Cardiology Department. Provide support, instruction and education to patients, families and/or significant others. Assess, plan, implement and evaluate the care rendered to patients with urgent, emergent or potential health problems. Perform a wide variety of nursing procedures including diagnostic testing and therapeutic procedures such as EKGs, stress tests, holter monitors, and pacemaker programming.
Screen patient phone calls to all doctors; call in prescriptions. Work closely with manager and physicians ensuring the highest level of care for patients of the Lexington Clinic.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Formal training which will probably be indicated by a Bachelor’s or Associate degree in nursing; current state licensure required; current CPR certification; knowledge of EKG interpretation, emergency care, pacemaker and defibrillator function and malfunction.
PHYSICAL GUIDELINES:
Physical guidelines include the ability to move, traverse, position self, remain in a stationary position and negotiate steps for up to eight hours per day; assist patients when arising from a wheelchair and moving from the exam table to the wheelchair.
