American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift position on a 20-bed telemetry unit specializing in post-op cardiac and vascular surgery patients.

• 20-bed telemetry unit with 3 PCU beds admitting progressive care populations
• Specializes in post-op CABG, post-op cardiac surgery, valve replacement/repair, vascular surgeries, CHF, and moderate risk chest pain patients
• Patient population has multiple co-morbidities and complex care needs
• Patients transferred from ICU, ED, and PACU
• Night shift, 3x12s, 7p-7a
• Weekends and holidays required
• 0.9 FTE

• Active, unrestricted RN license (KY or Compact) required
• BLS certification required
• ACLS required within 12 months
• NIHSS required within 3 months
• Annual Dysrhythmia Competency Validation required
• ADN or ASN required, BSN preferred
• No prior nursing experience required, though preferred

• Performs comprehensive patient assessments and implements individualized care plans in accordance with the nursing process
• Coordinates admission, transfer, and discharge activities including patient and family education
• Delegates and oversees tasks performed by other care team members
• Participates in unit-based quality improvement activities such as patient satisfaction, falls prevention, and documentation audits
• Collaborates closely with the inter-professional care team to determine and implement patient outcomes
