Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a 37-bed unit specializing in ortho/neuro/spine and secondary stroke care, requiring an active KY or compact RN license.

Details

• 37-bed telemetry/medical-surgical unit specializing in orthopedic, neuro, and spine patients
• Serves as a secondary stroke unit alongside general cardiac/telemetry patients
• Receives patients transferred from PACU, ED, interventional areas, and direct admissions from MD offices
• Night shift, 3x12s, 7p-7a
• 0.9 FTE

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted RN license (KY or compact)
• BLS certification required
• ADN or ASN required, BSN preferred
• No prior nursing experience required, though previous nursing experience preferred
• NIHSS certification required within 3 months of hire
• ACLS certification required within 12 months of hire

Additional Information

• Implements professional nursing practice centered on holistic, patient- and family-centered care
• Performs comprehensive assessments, develops care plans, and prioritizes patient needs based on inter-professional input
• Facilitates admission, transfer, and discharge activities including discharge teaching and coordination with Case Management
• Delegates and oversees tasks performed by other care team members
• Participates in unit-based quality improvement activities and core measures such as patient falls, pressure ulcers, and CAUTIs
• Promotes a positive, healing work environment and collaborates effectively with the care team
