Staff Educator & Infection Control Nurse Opportunity:

Located in Lexington, Kentucky, The Ridge offers a healing environment to reassure patients’ sense of security and confidentiality. Dedicated to excellence, The Ridge is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations, as a licensed, 110-bed hospital, providing psychiatric (mental health) and substance use disorder (drug and alcohol rehabilitation) services to children, adolescents and adults. Inpatient care is provided on a 24-hour basis, seven days a week.

Outpatient and partial hospitalization services are provided on a five-day per week basis, days and evenings. Care is provided according to an established code of ethical conduct and strict adherence to patient rights.

Position Summary:

The Staff Educator is responsible for assisting the CNO in evaluating, reviewing, designing, and implementing hospital training events with respect to all staff required training. Also provides, on as-needed basis, patient nursing assessments. Participates in treatment team meetings as needed.

Duties Include:

• Assures staff trainings address any changes in health care management and health science and technology
• Ensure the designs of the education and training programs are based on instructional strategies to enhance staff retention
• Administers and ensures compliance with TB Skin tests and flu.
• Participate in the antibiotic stewardship program;runningreportsand doing follow up work with providers.

Job Qualifications:

Education:

• A Registered Nurse with a Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university required; A Master’s Degree (M.A.) preferred.

Certifications/Licensure:

• Current KY Nursing Licensure

Experience:

• Minimum of three years of experience and/or training; preferably in a behavioral health or acute setting.
