American Traveler is hiring a Telemetry RN for a fast-paced 23-bed medical surgical unit requiring 2 years of relevant experience and cardiac monitoring skills.
Requirements- Active KY State or Compact RN license required
- BLS certification required
- 2 years of relevant nursing experience required
- First-time travelers considered only with several years of experience caring for post-op orthopedic and gastrointestinal surgery patients
- Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and telemetry remote monitoring
- Experience with IV therapy, central and peripheral line care, PICC line management, and blood product administration
- Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, nasal cannula, and tracheostomy management
- Experience with wound care/wound vac and isolation precautions/PPE
- Experience with surgical drains, peripheral nerve block catheters, and total joint replacement patients
- Must pass an EKG exam during onboarding
- 23-bed medical surgical unit caring for orthopedic, spine, general surgery, and bariatric patients
- Unit receives 10-20 post-op admissions per day and occasionally overflow from medicine areas
- Unit equipped with cardiac and O2 monitoring capability
- Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:30
- Float to other units within skillset or to an affiliate hospital nearby
- Requires both medical and surgical nursing skillset
- Provide post-surgical and medical-surgical nursing care in a busy, fast-paced environment
- Expected to work 3 of 5 winter holidays
- Local candidates within 100 miles of the facility are not accepted
- Returning permanent staff must be separated from all affiliated facilities for at least 6 months before returning as a traveler
- RTO must be disclosed prior to job offer, as time off requested afterward will not be approved
