The Brave Pets On-Site Liaison is the welcoming face of the Mobile Family Pet Reunion Center, coordinating visits between hospitalized children and their pets. This role oversees volunteers, partners with hospital staff, and ensures each reunion is safe, smooth, and filled with compassion while representing Brave Like Me’s mission of courage, hope, and joy at the hospital site. This role is responsible for coordinating patient/family visits, supervising volunteers, and ensuring the reunion experience is safe, smooth, and filled with compassion.

Liaisons act as guest relations hosts for patients, caregivers, hospital staff, pets, and volunteers, representing Brave Like Me’s mission at one hospital site. This is a part-time role with flexible scheduling between 8–40 hours per month, primarily during weekend operations.

The Brave Pets On-Site Liaison is the welcoming face of the Mobile Family Pet Reunion Center, coordinating visits between hospitalized children and their pets. This role oversees volunteers, partners with hospital staff, and ensures each reunion is safe, smooth, and filled with compassion while representing Brave Like Me’s mission of courage, hope, and joy at the hospital site.

This role is responsible for coordinating patient/family visits, supervising volunteers, and ensuring the reunion experience is safe, smooth, and filled with compassion. Liaisons act as guest relations hosts for patients, caregivers, hospital staff, pets, and volunteers, representing Brave Like Me’s mission at one hospital site. This is a part-time role with flexible scheduling between 8–40 hours per month, primarily during weekend operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the on-site point of contact for families, volunteers, hospital staff, and Brave Like Me headquarters staff.
  • Coordinate and host pet reunions, ensuring a positive and safe experience for all participants.
  • Supervise and support volunteers during operations.
  • Assist with setup, cleaning, and resetting the Pet Center between visits.
  • Communicate regularly with hospital staff (contact information will be provided by Brave Like Me) to ensure smooth scheduling and patient flow.
  • Collect and share reunion stories, photos, and updates with Brave Like Me HQ staff for impact reporting and storytelling.
  • Maintain compliance with hospital safety, HIPAA, and all Brave Like Me protocols
  • Remain attentive and responsive to the needs of children, families, and pets during visits.
  • Assumes additional responsibilities as needed, or if the schedule allows.
Schedule & Work Conditions
  • Work primarily on weekends when the Mobile Pet Center is on-site. Typical onsite times are as follows:
    • Fridays (noon – 6:00 PM)
    • Saturdays & Sundays (9:00 AM – 8:00 PM)
  • Shifts will not exceed 8 hours.
  • The Pet Center operates only 1–2 weekends per month at each site.
  • Role requires working indoors within the Pet Center and outdoors (walking between the Pet Center and Hospital) in varying weather conditions.
Qualifications & Skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Prior experience in healthcare, child life services, social work, hospitality, or nonprofit program delivery preferred.
  • Comfortable around animals of all sizes (including large dogs and cats).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to work with children, families, and medical staff with empathy and professionalism.
  • Ability to handle emotional situations with sensitivity and calm.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
