Gray Construction is looking to hire a Director, Quality to work out of the Lexington, KY office.

  • Oversee and manage all aspects of construction quality control and assurance across Gray Construction operations.
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve a comprehensive construction quality management program, including all policies, procedures, standards, and tools, aligned with industry best practices.
  • Provide centralized oversight and direction for all project‑based quality programs to ensure consistent execution company‑wide.
  • Establish, enforce, and maintain standardized quality assurance processes, inspection protocols, and documentation requirements for all phases of construction.
  • Conduct regular project site visits to assess quality practices and verify compliance with contract documents, specifications, codes, and applicable standards.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and analyze quality data to identify trends, risks, and continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Lead technical reviews, root cause analyses, and corrective action planning for quality issues, defects, and non‑conformances.
  • Communicate lessons learned, recurring quality risks, and best practices across the organization to drive consistent improvement.
  • Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, and trade contractors to integrate quality considerations into project planning, scheduling, and decision‑making.
  • Identify quality‑related risks and hazards and develop mitigation strategies to reduce rework, claims, warranty exposure, and operational risk.
  • Coordinate quality activities with safe work practices to ensure alignment between quality execution and jobsite safety.
  • Partner with operations, legal, and insurance teams to support contractual compliance, claims avoidance, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Design and deliver training programs, in partnership with Gray’s Learning & Development team, to strengthen quality standards, inspection techniques, documentation, and accountability.
  • Establish and partner with a network of subject matter experts to support critical technical disciplines and high‑risk scopes of work.
  • Build and maintain strategic partnerships with suppliers, manufacturers, and vendors to support technical reviews, training, and constructability solutions.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of quality professionals, providing direction, coaching, and performance management to build long‑term organizational capability.
