You will be a Laboratory Technician to support the Quality & Mission Success organization for our SOF GLSS (Special Operations Forces - Global Logistics Support Services) contract based in Lexington, KY. This program is critical to the success of US service members deployed throughout the world. Our mission is to rapidly and properly equip the SOF community and its war fighters with the best possible systems and equipment.

What You Will Be Doing

As the Laboratory Technician, you will be a key member of the SOF GLSS team. In this position you will have the opportunity to work closely with a talented cross-functional team in support of the mission. This position will use a variety of equipment and instruments to monitor and maintain the chemical conversion coating process. In addition to monitoring the process inputs you will also be responsible for performing periodic testing of the process output to confirm that the process is yielding acceptable results.

Your diligence will ensure that those we serve always stay Ahead of Ready.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Perform chemical solution analysis
  • Use hand-held meter to measure pH, temperature and PPM of chemical baths
  • Input and monitor process control data
  • Prepare coupons for testing
  • Perform corrosion resistance and adhesion testing
  • Manage inventory of chemicals and consumables needed
  • Make and replenish chemical baths as needed
  • Change out and treat rinse waters weekly
  • Maintain cleanliness of work environment including laboratory and chemical tanks
  • Create and maintain records of all process checks and test results in accordance with documented procedures
  • Perform other job duties as assigned by Manager

MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must be able to obtain a Secret clearance. A company-sponsored interim Secret clearance is required to start.

Basic Qualifications:

Ability to pass background checks required to obtain Secret level security clearance.

Ability to understand and perform testing activities in accordance with military standards and associated procedures.

Associates degree in a technical discipline or high school diploma with 2 years experience in data collection, testing and/or laboratory setting.

Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Proficient with Microsoft Office products such as Excel and Word.

Desired

Skills:



At least 1 year experience in a chemical laboratory.

Experience in chemical analysis methods and tools, such as titration, spectrophotometer, pH meter and thermometer.

Experience conducting corrosion resistance and wet adhesion tests.

Experience with chromate conversion coating processes used for aluminum.

Good technical problem solving skills.

Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.
