Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Technician

Position Summary

The Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Technician supports the implementation and maintenance of environmental, health, and safety programs to ensure compliance with company policies and applicable regulatory requirements. This role assists in promoting a safe work environment, preventing workplace injuries, and supporting environmental sustainability initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine safety inspections and workplace audits.
  • Assist in identifying hazards and implementing corrective and preventive actions.
  • Support incident and near-miss investigations, including root cause analysis.
  • Monitor compliance with OSHA, EPA, and company EHS requirements.
  • Maintain EHS records, reports, permits, and documentation.
  • Assist with environmental compliance programs, including waste management and recycling initiatives.
  • Conduct employee safety orientations and EHS training sessions.
  • Ensure proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Participate in emergency response planning and drills.
  • Track and report key EHS performance indicators.
  • Support ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems activities.
  • Work closely with supervisors and employees to promote a strong safety culture.

Qualifications

Education

  • Technician's Degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Technology, Engineering, or a related field preferred.

Experience

  • 2+ years of EHS experience in a manufacturing, industrial, automotive, or logistics environment preferred.

Language Requirements

  • Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to prepare reports, procedures, and training materials in English.

Technical Knowledge

  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations and workplace safety practices.
  • Understanding of environmental compliance requirements.
  • Hazard identification and risk assessment techniques.
  • Incident investigation and corrective action tracking.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Familiarity with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Problem-solving and analytical thinking.
  • Organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and environmental stewardship.

Certifications Preferred

  • OSHA 30-Hour Certification.
  • First Aid/CPR Certification.
  • Forklift Safety Trainer Certification (if applicable).
  • Manufacturing and office environment.
  • Frequent presence on the production floor.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. and conduct facility inspections.
  • Occasional overtime and weekend support as needed.
