BasePay Range
$70,000.00/yr - $85,000.00/yr
Position OverviewTru Diagnostic is seeking a Scientific Writing and Research Associate to support our expanding publication pipeline within the Research & Development team. This role is ideal for a recent graduate or pre‑med/pre‑PhD student taking a gap year who wants hands‑on authorship experience in peer‑reviewed scientific journals. The selected candidate will collaborate with Tru Diagnostic researchers to draft, edit, and prepare approximately 15 manuscripts for publication within a 12‑month period, contributing directly to the company’s ongoing work in biological aging, DNA methylation, and molecular biomarker validation.
This position offers an exceptional opportunity to develop scientific writing, data analysis, and research communication skills while earning publication credits that strengthen future academic or professional pursuits.
- Draft and edit manuscripts for peer‑reviewed publication, including methods, results, and discussion sections.
- Perform literature reviews and summarize current research relevant to Tru Diagnostic studies.
- Collaborate with scientists and data analysts to interpret study findings and prepare publication‑ready figures and tables.
- Work with R and related analytical tools to assist in data cleaning, visualization, and basic statistical interpretation.
- Manage references, formatting, and submission materials for multiple journals.
- Track manuscript progress from drafting through peer review, coordinating revisions as needed.
- Maintain documentation in alignment with company OKRs and research validation goals (e.g., MSA, MRS, EBP, skin clock, etc.).
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree or upper‑level undergraduate coursework in Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Bioinformatics, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience with R programming (data visualization, analysis, or reproducible reporting).
- Excellent scientific writing and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to synthesize complex information.
- Self‑starter capable of managing multiple projects with minimal supervision.
Preferred:
- Prior authorship or co‑authorship experience in academic or preprint publications.
- Experience working with large biological datasets or omics data.
- Familiarity with DNA methylation, biological age models, or molecular diagnostics research.
- Duration: 12 months (with potential extension based on performance and project volume).
- Schedule: Full‑time (preferred) or part‑time (minimum 20 hours/week).
- Compensation: Competitive, based on experience.
