Demeetra is seeking a highly motivated Cell Line Development Scientist to join our fast-paced team advancing next-generation gene editing technologies in bioproduction. This role is designed for someone who is eager, hands‑on, detail‑driven, and experienced enough to contribute with minimal onboard training. The successful candidate must be driven by a culture of excellence and ready for intense, high‑expectation, hands‑on CLD workflows
, bringing industry experience that enables them to contribute at a high level from day one, ideally in a CRO or CDMO setting.
You will be a key contributor in developing engineered CHO cell lines and optimizing upstream processes that support Demeetra’s cutting‑edge gene editing platforms. This position is ideal for recent graduates (MS or PhD) and are eager to take ownership of experimental design, workflow execution, and timeline‑driven deliverables.
Responsibilities- Execute CHO cell culture processes across shake flasks and spin tube fed‑batch formats
- Perform transfection, selection, single‑cell cloning, and clone characterization workflows
- Support upstream development with high attention to process consistency and data integrity
- Vector design and molecular biology
- Run titer and basic downstream quality assays to assess productivity and cell line performance, analytical experience (HPLC) is a plus.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally to implement advanced gene editing technologies in CLD
- Contribute to workflow design, documentation, and continuous process improvement
- Maintain a culture of excellence, accountability, and meeting or exceeding timelines
- MS or PhD in biology, biochemistry, biotechnology, or related field required
- Demonstrated proficiency in:
- Molecular biology and vector construction
- Suspension CHO cell culture
- Transfection & selection workflows
- Shake flask, spin tube, and deep‑well plate fed‑batch processes
- Single‑cell cloning
- Titer determination and standard downstream quality assessments
- Analytical techniques such as HPLC, LC/MS, and/or CE.
- Ability to thrive in a high‑expectation, fast‑moving environment
- Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills
