Job SummaryThe Zhu lab in the Barnstable Brown Diabetes Center is looking for a talented Post-doctoral Scholar to study adipose tissue and inter-organ communication (adipose-liver-gut axis) in obesity and MASH. This position offers a unique opportunity to study lipid metabolism and tissue crosstalk using state-of-the-art genetics, physiology and multi-omics approaches.
Responsibilities Include- Conduct independent research with supervision and guidance, including publications in peer-reviewed journals.
- Design and execute in vivo, ex vivo, and in vitro experiments using diverse cellular systems and mouse models.
- Perform mouse metabolic phenotyping and data analyses (e.g. glucose and lipid metabolism, glucose-stimulated insulin secretion, energy expenditure, and histology)
- Apply molecular biology techniques, including CRISPR gene editing and adeno-associated virus (AAV)-mediated gene delivery.
- Strong motivation for metabolic research.
- Some experience working with mice.
- Proficiency in English (communication, writing, and presentation).
