Position: Director for the Office of Postdoctoral Research, Innovation, Scholarship, and Mentorship

University of Kentucky (UK) Office of the Vice President for Research (OVPR) seeks a Director of Postdoctoral and Graduate Research Training

Anchored in the Office of Postdoctoral Research, Innovation, Scholarship, and Mentorship (PRISM), the Director will:

  • design and lead University-wide activities that advance the research training of postdoctoral and graduate student researchers
  • lead PRISM and develop programming to enhance the postdoctoral experience
  • support the development, submission, and administration of federal research training grants spanning pre- and postdoctoral trainees
  • lead research-centered career and professional development programming
  • promote the achievements of postdoctoral and graduate student researchers and their mentors
  • foster a collaborative research trainee community across the University
  • collaborate and coordinate with the Graduate School and other units across the University to advance the research training and research-centered career outcomes of postdoctoral and graduate student researchers, complementing the educational and degree-program missions of those partner units

The goal of this work is to prepare postdoctoral and graduate student researchers for impactful research-centered careers in academia, industry, government, and beyond.

Shift Schedule

This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule.

Required Education / Experience

Doctorate degree and one (1) year of experience OR equivalent (below)

  • High School diploma or GED and ten (10) years of experience
  • Associate’s degree and eight (8) years of experience
  • Bachelor's degree and six (6) years of experience
  • Master's degree and four (4) years of experience
