Job Summary
This position will lead and execute specialized bone histology and histomorphometry services spanning clinical bone biopsies (e.g., transiliac crest biopsies with/without tetracycline labeling) and preclinical animal studies (rodents and large animals as applicable). The role includes processing, embedding, sectioning, staining, image acquisition, quantitative analysis, and reporting following established guidelines (e.g., standardized nomenclature and indices), and documenting results, quality assurance, and lab supervision.
The position is central to clinical care pathways for patients with metabolic bone disease and to translational/experimental studies evaluating bone structure, formation, and resorption. Expertise with micro computed tomography (micro CT) and other bone imaging modalities is highly desirable.
Education:
Master’s degree (MS) required.
Experience:
0-2 years research and/or laboratory experience preferred.
License/Registration/Certification:
None required.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift, push or pull objects up to 50 lbs. and sit for long periods.
Work Hours:
Monday‑Friday 8:00 am‑4:30 pm.
Salary Range: $17.76–28.43 per hour.
Grade Level: 42.
