Lifting, pushing, and/or pulling objects up to 50 lbs. Sitting/standing for extended periods of time as well as extended periods of repetitive motion and general laboratory duties required as part of this position.

Days:
Monday – Friday, 8 AM – 5 PM (40 hrs/wk). In the event of an outbreak, overtime (including nights and weekends) may be required.

The Martin-Gatton College of Agriculture, Food and Environment Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory ( UKVDL ) develops and applies state-of-the-art diagnostic methodology to improve animal health and marketability, to protect the public health and to assist in the preservation of the human-animal bond through the principles of One Health. For additional information on the UKVDL , please. This position is a vital member of the team serving as a Diagnostic Technician.

The duties for this position in the Molecular Section of the UKVDL include process specimens; run diagnostic assays; evaluate results; keep proper records and report results; database management ; bioinformatics; and assist in the training of other employees as needed.
