Position Overview
Responsible for properly preparing various types of Pastries & Desserts and to ensure that all presentations are aesthetically appealing and adhere to the Jeff Ruby standard of quality.

- Prepare all pastry items in accordance with company‑approved recipes.
- Develop new and innovative pastry items to be used as specials or potential new menu items.
- Ensure that all dessert components are fully stocked and prepared for service.
- Follow all safety and health rules for sanitary food handling and kitchen cleanliness.
- Daily set up workstation and keep it neat and clean.
- Assist coworkers to ensure efficient operation of the line.
- Review and comprehend recipes and other necessary documentation.
- Ability to stand and walk during 6 to 8 hour shifts.
- Ability to reach, bend, stoop, and wipe.
- Ability to lift and carry supplies and equipment up to 60 pounds and place items on high and low shelves in storerooms and freezers.
- Ability to work in an environment that is subject to varying levels of heat and noise.
- Food preparation knowledge and line work experience.
- Ability to operate various cooking equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret recipes.
At least a year’s training at a culinary institute or previous restaurant training and experience required.
