Overview
An employer is seeking an Account Executive in the Lexington, KY area. This is a fast-growing 3rd Party Logistics (3PL) provider specializing in freight brokerage services. They connect customers with reliable drivers and carriers to move freight efficiently across the U.S. This is a high-energy, sales-driven environment with significant earning potential for motivated individuals. This role starts as an Account Executive in Training (AET), where you’ll learn the business by supporting an experienced Account Executive’s book of business.
You’ll develop core logistics knowledge including carrier sourcing, rate negotiation, and freight execution, while gradually building the skills needed to manage your own customers.
This is an inside sales role that involves high-volume calling, relationship building, and negotiation. Sales professionals in this role are essentially freight brokers, selling transportation services to customers nationwide.
Responsibilities- Source and build relationships with carriers/drivers
- Negotiate freight rates with carriers
- Support an Account Executive’s existing book of business
- Cold call prospective customers and carriers
- Manage freight movement from start to finish
- Build toward owning and managing your own customer accounts
