The Role
As a Territory Manager at Halter, you will drive new business growth and ensure customer success within your designated territory. You’ll execute sales strategies, build strong relationships, and meet ambitious growth targets while representing Halter on the ground. The role involves both expansion and long‑term customer satisfaction, requiring a proactive, hands‑on approach.
What Your Day Could Look Like- Prospecting New Business:
Drive up driveways, attend local cattle auctions, and meet with livestock associations to build a new business pipeline through outbound lead generation and timely follow‑up. - In‑Field Sales:
Meet potential customers on the ranch, discuss Halter over coffee or on a side‑by‑side, and highlight the value of virtual fencing. - Expanding Existing Opportunities:
Grow relationships with current customers, identify new ways to increase value over time. - Hitting Sales Targets:
Manage pipeline, qualify leads, and maintain focus on next quarter’s goals. - Customer Account Management:
Maintain close relationships post‑sale to ensure ongoing satisfaction, support, and smooth handoff to onboarding. - Territory Ownership:
Own the entire Central Kentucky region, engaging stakeholders from local, state, and federal agencies. - Customer Onboarding:
Own end‑to‑end onboarding experience, ensuring a seamless transition from sales to implementation. - Field Learnings & Feedback:
Gather customer feedback and advocate for their needs within the organization. - Collaborating with Support Teams:
Resolve issues quickly and ensure customers feel fully supported. - Attending Industry Events:
Attend events like Cattle Con or local livestock association meetups to generate leads and strengthen relationships. - Contributing to the US Sales Strategy:
Provide input to refine the sales process for the US market.
- Driven attitude and strong communication skills:
Results‑driven, motivated, adaptable, and proactive. - Ranching / Cattle experience:
Ability to connect meaningfully with customers about industry challenges. - Sales & Customer Success expertise:
History of creating new business, negotiating value‑based conversations, and building lasting relationships. - Territory Management experience:
Managing a large territory with balanced sales and customer success focus, ideally within agriculture or technology. - Problem‑solving & collaboration:
Resourceful, quick‑thinking, and teamwork‑oriented. - Willingness to travel:
Frequent travel within your territory.
- Familiarity with precision agriculture or virtual fencing technologies.
- Background in customer‑facing roles within agricultural technology.
- Experience selling SaaS solutions in a B2B environment.
